This project examines how the integration of all kinds of sensors (such as laser scanners, cameras, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and inertial navigation systems (INS)) can be optimized. It also aims to develop a low cost system for the mobile mapping of hydrographic applications. Such mobile systems can be used in a broad range of applications, both on moving and floating platforms, in order to carry out measurement campaigns on all kinds of sites (archaeological sites, measurements on the beach, ...). Furthermore, during this project methods are developed for the systematic processing of the data. In addition to the statistical analysis of the accuracy, there will also be examined whether the rapidly emerging technique of photo modelling can be used for similar applications.
