This project focusses on the possible effects of climate change on the water resources in multiple rivers in Central Asia. Firstly, the general circulation models are downscaled to estimate the spatiotemporal characteristics of climate change trends in Central Asia. Secondly, SWAT and MIKE SHE hydrological models are applied to simulate the hydrological processes in typical alpine rivers. Thirdly, the corrected RCM and hydrological model are combined for investigating the future climate change impact on the water resources in the nine selected river basins.
