Integrated methodology for soil moisture analysis using remote sensing data in Mongolian agricultural area

Soil moisture is an important factor for agriculture in Mongolia, certainly in semi-arid and arid circumstances. Understanding soil moisture is essential for current situation in Mongolian agricultural and new modeling and methods using remotely sensed data will be clarified in this project. We selected two study areas that are situated in the north central part of Mongolia. The project objectives are: (1) developing an integrated methodology for soil moisture analysis using multispectral data; (2) estimating long-term soil moisture content for fourteen years in the growing season; (3) correlating soil moisture content and vegetation growth; (4) applying integrated soil moisture methodology for Mongolian agricultural area.
