On March 14, 2022, Virgina Carter Gamberini successfully defended her PhD "New perspectives on biophilic urbanism: an analysis of its opportunities and challenges in Chile". She obtained the degree of Doctor in Science: Geography (UGent). Promoters were professors Ben Derudder (Department of Geography, Ghent University) and Cristián Henríquez (Institute of Geography, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile). The main objective of Virginia's thesis was to explore and delve into the governmental perspectives on the potential implementation of biophilic urbanism in Chile. To fulfill this purpose, the research combined different levels of spatial analysis and policy formulation.
