Sofie Annys wins Prize for Tropical Geography Yola Verhasselt


PhD student Sofie Annys has been awarded the Prize Yola Verhasselt for Tropical Geography for her research on the impact of the Ribb dam and irrigation scheme on local livelihoods in northern Ethiopia. She has obtained a travel credit to follow up on her research and further investigate the costs and benefits of the dam and irrigation project using an interdisciplinary perspective. The three-yearly prize is awarded by the Section of Human Sciences of the Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences.
