UGent signed a MoU with National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) (Mexico)

On October 19th, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Culture of the United Mexican States and Ghent University was signed by Diego Prieto Hernández, general director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) and Mieke Van Herreweghe, vice rector of Ghent University, in the presence of Her Royal Highness Pricess Astrid of Belgium.

The objective of this MoU is to establish the basis on which INAH and UGent may develop cooperation activities in conservation, research and training in the field of cultural heritage, esp. conduct joint studies to expand knowledge and dissemination of the Archeological Zone of Edzná and carry out joint actions of dissemination of the cultural heritage of the United Mexican States and Belgium, through publications, documentaries, use of information and communication technologies, exchange of experts, …

For Ghent University the focal point is the Department of Geography.
