Bio

Kurt Fuellhart holds a Ph.D. in Geography (Penn State University, U.S.A) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA, University of Connecticut, U.S.A.). Currently, he is Director in the Economics and Forecasting Practice at Unison Consulting, Inc. (Laguna Hills, California, U.S.A.). His work focuses on data analytics related to the business of airports and air transportation including: transportation demand forecasting, regional market analysis, economic impact studies, survey research, and GIS. He works closely with the firm’s market research, finance, concessions, and other practices to support both airport and non-airport projects.

Before joining Unison, Kurt was a tenured Full Professor of Geography at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. During his 23 years at Shippensburg, he taught courses in human, economic, and transport geography as well as sustainability. Kurt has authored/co-authored more than 25 peer-reviewed articles, as well as book chapters and conference proceedings. His research has focused on multi-airport regions, air-transport in the Asia-Pacific, regional economic impact assessment, and industrial knowledge transfer among other things. He has been a co-promotor or jury member for doctoral students at Ghent University and an advisor or committee member for master’s students at Shippensburg University. Kurt joined Ghent University as a Visiting Research Professor in 2022.
