Prof. dr. Rudi Goossens conducts research in remote sensing and photogrammetry. Research is being conducted on the use of high resolution images and on creating DEMs and orthophotos. Mainly on urban areas, high-resolution space images can be used for this purpose. The photogrammetric methods are also used for the documentation of heritage and this on a large scale. The research is done in collaboration with other departments (including archeology, geology, ...), other universities (KUL, VUB, ...) and colleges (University College Ghent), research institutions and government agencies in Belgium and abroad (Italy, Greece ...).
