Equipment and laboratory equipment for fieldwork

The research group of Physical Geography is equipped with field and laboratory equipment to perform geomorphological research. Specific research equipment is developed for each project, depending on type of research, local factors and partners. A couple of examples are given for equipment that is often used in our research group.

  • Drone for quantification of erosion (France)
  • Hydrogeomorphological station to measure runoff and sediment load during peak discharges in small agricultural catchments (France)
  • Tipping-Bucket rain gages for the characterizing of monsoon rains (Ethiopia)
  • Several equipment is available for the study of soil (hand drills, kopecky rings, clinometer, and more) (Belgium)
  • Sedigraph to determine the loam and clay fractions in a texture analysis
  • Sedimentolgical laboratory
