Dr. Koos Fransen gets GeoSpatial Award


Dr. Koos Fransen has been awarded for the research he conducted as part of his PhD. He got the GeoSpatial Award 2018 in the category “Best Dissertation”. During BeGeo, the Belgian conference and fair on geo-information, the Geospatial Award 2017 was handed over by Alexander De Croo. These awards were co-hosted by Flagis vzw and AM / FM GIS Belux vzw. On December 4th, Koos Fransen successfully defended his PhD in Industrial Engineering with a thesis entitled “Travelling beyond Spatial Analysis - The Impact of Temporal and Personal Restrictions on Equitable Access to Opportunities“. His research was supervised by prof. Philippe De Maeyer and Greet Deruyter.
