About the department
The last couple of decades, the department of Geography has gone through a lot of changes. Until the seventies, the Geography department consisted of several laboratories located in several separate university buildings. At the end of the seventies and the beginning of the eighties these laboratories moved to the new building (S8) located on campus 'Sterre'.
In 1995 these laboratories merged into one large research unit, the department of Geography. At the same time, all separate laboratory libraries were merged into one big 'Geography'-library.
